Terms of Service

Welcome to Liv's Lens Photography. By booking a session or using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Booking and Deposits

• A non-refundable retainer (deposit) is required to secure your session date.
• The retainer amount will be specified in your booking confirmation and is applied toward your total session fee.
• Your session date is not confirmed until the retainer is received.
• Remaining balances are due on or before the session date unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

2. Cancellation and Rescheduling

Client Cancellation

• Cancellations made more than 14 days before the session: retainer may be applied to a future session within 6 months.
• Cancellations made within 14 days of the session: retainer is forfeited.
• No-shows forfeit the full session fee.

Rescheduling

• One reschedule is permitted at no additional charge with at least 7 days' notice.
• Additional reschedules may incur a fee.
• Rescheduled sessions must occur within 90 days of the original date.

Photographer Cancellation

In the unlikely event that I must cancel, you will receive a full refund of all payments made, or the option to reschedule at a mutually agreeable time.

3. Weather and Outdoor Sessions

For outdoor sessions, if weather conditions are unsuitable (rain, storms, extreme temperatures), we will work together to reschedule at no additional cost. Light overcast or mild conditions are generally not grounds for rescheduling.

4. Session Conduct

• Please arrive on time. Late arrivals may result in a shortened session.
• I reserve the right to end a session early if there is inappropriate, unsafe, or disrespectful behavior.
• Alcohol consumption before or during sessions is discouraged as it may affect the quality of images.

5. Image Delivery

• Edited images will be delivered within the timeframe specified in your session agreement (typically 2-4 weeks).
• Images are delivered via online gallery with download access.
• RAW/unedited images are not provided.
• The number of final edited images varies by session type and will be discussed during booking.

6. Image Usage Rights

Client Rights

Upon full payment, you receive a personal use license to:

• Print images for personal use
• Share images on personal social media
• Use images for personal announcements, invitations, etc.

Photographer Rights

I retain copyright to all images and may use them for:

• Portfolio display (website, social media, print)
• Marketing and promotional materials
• Contest submissions
• Educational purposes

If you wish to keep your images private, please discuss this before your session. An additional fee may apply for exclusive privacy rights.

7. Image Editing and Alterations

• All images receive professional editing consistent with my artistic style.
• I do not provide heavy retouching, body alterations, or composite editing as standard practice.
• Additional editing requests may be available for an extra fee.
• Applying filters or heavy edits to images before sharing is discouraged to maintain image quality and my brand representation.

8. Liability

• I am not responsible for injuries that occur during photo sessions. Clients participate at their own risk.
• In the unlikely event of equipment failure or file corruption, liability is limited to a refund of payments made.
• I carry liability insurance for my protection and yours.

9. Travel

• Sessions within 25 miles of Rochester, MI are included in the session fee.
• Sessions beyond 25 miles may incur a travel fee.
• Travel fees for destination sessions will be quoted separately.

10. Communication

Primary communication will be via email. Please ensure you check your email regularly leading up to your session. Response times are typically within 24-48 hours on business days.

11. Agreement

By booking a session with Liv's Lens Photography, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service. A separate session contract may be provided for certain session types (e.g., weddings, commercial work).

12. Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated periodically. The terms in effect at the time of your booking will apply to your session.
